  • During reconstruction of sewage treatment facilities in Herzliya in 2009 a new biological reactor, consisting of three sections of 6000 cubic meters each with an operating height about 6 m, was installed. Air is pumped by means of three air blowers of 6000 cubic meters each through disc diffusers. Soon after launching it was obvious that all system is highly uneconomical. In order to keep oxygen concentration at 1.5/2 mg/l we had to continuously work with two-three air blowers (9000-13000 cubic meters) for the whole reactor and it was not always possible. After in the beginning of 2013 rupture marks were detected on some diffusers we decided that it is time to replace them by somewhat more effective. We issued a tender, and one of many offers we have received for consideration contained information about aerators of EKOTON Company. There were a lot of cons: unknown company, lack of experience of work in Israel, disagreement of designers and technical advisors. However, despite of some concerns and doubts we decided to install these particular aerators. This product attracted us by its simple and reliable design, price, mechanical strength, longevity, 8-year warranty, no need for service checks, easy and quick installation, and also a very tempting offer of company management: possibility to pay the most part of the amount only in case if we are fully satisfied by their operation, which can be done even in six months. In November 2013 we launched the first section of the reactor with EKOTON tubular aerators. Reality has exceeded our most optimistic expectations. Quantity of used air has significantly reduced as well as quantity of consumed energy. Saturation of liquid with oxygen has become more stable and homogenous in the whole basin. In 2 months instead of previously agreed 6 months of observation of aerator performance it was decided to replace diffusers installed in two remaining sections by EKOTON aerators, which was done in stairstep order. Today the whole reactor (3 sections) is functioning with installed EKOTON aerators, and we are extremely satisfied with obtained results. Required oxygen concentration (about 2 mg/l) is kept in all sections with much less energy consumption. The most part of a day (14-16 hours) we use one air blower (4500 cubic meters) and during peak hours (8-10 hours) two air blowers (instead of 2-3 air blowers used previously, before replacement of aerators). (PWiK Ostróda Sp. z o.o.) as Main Investor confirms, that PRODEKO-EŁK company, located in Ełk (Poland), in August 2015 delivered and installed 129 linear meters of APKV tubular aerators. Application of PRODEKO-EŁK aeration systems allowed to decrease exploitation costs and, simultaneously, to maintain good stability of biological wastewater treatment.     "At the moment, the aeration of the mixed liquor in Aerotanks No.1-3 during the biological wastewater treatmentat the sewage treatment facilities of VKH MUE (municipal water and wastewater treatment organization). of Volgodonsk is ensured by the aeration system of RPC EKOTON. The replacement of the pre-existing aeration system by the aeration system of RPC EKOTON, as well as modernization of the equipment of the blowing house for the less energy-intensive one were carried out in 2009-2010. As a result of measures taken, the reduction in the growth of activated sludge in aerotanks is observed, that leads to the reduction in the volume of biomass removed for the disposal. The electricity consumption fell by an average of 30%. The quality of the biological treatment in 2011 in comparison with 2009 improved on the following indicators:  suspended substances – 23%;  COD – by 8.5%;  BOD5 – by 1.6%. During the operation of the aeration systems of RPC EKOTON, no problems in their operation, namely: non-uniform distribution of air pumped into the aeration system, stagnant zones in the layer of purified wastewater or reduction of the concentration of dissolved oxygen were not detected."

    "CJSC "Municipal Treatment Facilities"  operates the complex of the wastewater treatment facilities with the capacity of 220 000 m3/day. The project provides six aerotanks, 4 corridors in each one. The overhaul of the aeration systems in aerotanks was carried out in 2009-2010. The EKOTON aerators are installed in aerotanks. The total number of aerators arms  in each aerotank is 10 (including 3 rows in the first and seconds rows each, 2 rows in the third and fourth rows each). As a result the following results have been reached:  The uniform air distribution excluded the formation of stagnant zones, whereby the processes of decay of activated sludge stopped; The fine-bubble aeration enabled the more full saturation of the mixed liquor with air, and that increased the activity of microorganisms of the activated sludge. The electricity consumption for the operation of the aeration system fell by 20 thousand kW-h/day; The effectiveness of the wastewater treatment on the nitrogen group increased. Besides, simplicity and speed of the installation work can be attributed to the advantages of the EKOTON aerators."

    "PO Vodokanal OJSC operates the complex of the wastewater treatment facilities with the capacity of 48 m3/day. The cooperation of our enterprises started in 2007, when, during the overhaul of aerotanks, EKOTON AP KV fine-bubble polyethylene aerators were installed. As a result the following has been reached:  The uniform air distribution that excluded the formation of stagnant zones, whereby the processes of decay of activated sludge stopped;  The fine-bubble aeration enabled the more full saturation of the mixed liquor with air, and that increased the activity of microorganisms of the activated sludge;  The electricity consumption for the operation of the aeration system fell;  The effectiveness of the wastewater treatment on the nitrogen group increased. Besides, simplicity and speed of the installation work can be attributed to the advantages of the EKOTON aerators. Then, the overflow weirs were installed on collecting trays of clarifiers, and that made it possible to:  perform installation within an extremely short time due to the high quality of equipment and components;  equalize the hydraulic load on the group of clarifiers practically without the cumbersome construction part;  additionally saturate the sludge liquor with oxygen."
