In the summer of 2019, an MDQ-352C Multi-disc Screw Press Dehydrator was installed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Latvian resort town of Jurmala.
The implementation of this project has become a challenge to our specialists, since the following customer’s requirements had to be included in the design solution:
- modification of the dehydrator design to be able to use connection points from the centrifuge, previously used at the wastewater treatment plant;
- equipment integration into the local control system according to the customer’s choice
- incoming sludge type – 100% excess activated sludge after the drum thickener. Typically, we add reagents to the mixing tank, but in this case the sludge is already supplied with the flocculant and does not interfere with efficient operation of the equipment.
Thanks to the joint work of SIA Jūrmalas ūdens employees and EKOTON company employees, all requests of the operating organization were implemented. One and a half years after actuation, the WWTP representatives noted the equipment’s high energy efficiency and economical flocculant consumption.
It is worth remembering that the EKOTON Industrial Group has been producing Multi-disc Screw Press Dehydrators since 2011 under a license agreement with Japanese company Tsurumi Pump. This type of equipment is the best choice for both municipal wastewater treatment plants and industrial local sewage plants based on the high equipment reliability, a wide range of models, use of several dewatering drums in one dehydrator and low operating costs.
